What is AudioCrab, exactly?
A focused web app that extracts an audio track from any video. You choose the output format — MP3, WAV, FLAC, OGG, M4A, AAC — and we do the rest. Runs in your browser via FFmpeg WebAssembly, no install.
Do I need to sign up?
Yes — a free account keeps your quota tied to you across devices and unlocks Pro upgrades. Sign in with email, email OTP or one-click Google. No credit card for the free tier.
Is it really free?
Yes. Every new account gets 5 free extractions — every format, no credit card. After that you can upgrade to Pro for unlimited use. Free tier extractions never expire.
Quality & formats
Will the audio quality drop?
Only if you ask it to. When the source audio codec matches your output format (e.g. an MP4 with an AAC track → M4A out), we copy the stream bit-for-bit. Otherwise we re-encode at the bitrate you pick, up to 320 kbps for MP3 and lossless for WAV/FLAC.
Which video formats do you accept?
MP4, MOV, MKV, WEBM, AVI, FLV, WMV, M4V, 3GP, MPEG, MTS, TS, VOB, OGV — plus anything else FFmpeg can decode. That's roughly 50+ containers and every mainstream codec.
Can I keep the original bitrate?
Yes. Pick “Original” and we won't touch the encoding. This is the closest to lossless you can get without WAV or FLAC.
Privacy & security
What happens to my file?
Nothing — literally. Extraction runs entirely in your browser via FFmpeg WebAssembly. Your video never leaves your device and we never see it.
Do you log the files I extract?
We can't. Only your account email and anonymous usage counts (per-day extractions, chosen format) are stored. Filenames, content, waveforms — none of it ever touches our servers.
So there's no upload?
Correct. The engine (FFmpeg WASM) downloads once, then runs locally. Big videos aren't limited by our infrastructure — they're limited by your device's RAM and CPU.
Billing
How much does Pro cost?
See the current Pro prices — monthly, yearly, and lifetime — on the pricing page. They're pulled live from the paywall, so what you see is what you pay.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes. Monthly and yearly plans cancel from your account — downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing cycle. Lifetime is a one-time purchase, so there's nothing to cancel.
Do you offer refunds?
If AudioCrab didn't solve your problem within 14 days of purchase, we'll refund you in full. This includes lifetime purchases. Just reply to the receipt email.
